Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Stowmarket, where a teenage boy was stabbed. Officers were called to the recreation ground on Finborough Road by the East of England Ambulance Service just before 8:30pm yesterday, Tuesday 21 April, following reports that a teenage boy had sustained stab injuries.
It was reported that three suspects approached the victim, before making off on foot.
Police, ambulance and air ambulance crew attended the scene and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Following enquiries, three suspects (an 18-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy) were located at Stowmarket train station a short time later and arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
They have been taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they remain.
* Police activity in the local area today * Officers will be conducting searches in the local area today, Wednesday 22 April, namely between the skate park and Stowmarket train station (Finborough Road, Tavern Street, Station Road) looking for the weapon used in attack, described as a large knife.
Detectives are appealing to local residents to also check their gardens and bins for any items that may have been discarded that may assist police with their enquiries.
Should residents uncover items that are believed to be suspicious, police are asking them not to touch the item and to leave it in situ for officers to collect.

Officers will also be undertaking additional uniformed patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.
